Hello! You’ve come to my gym. My mindset gym. My mindset gym is the place where I visit to perform daily mindset workouts consisting of five daily exercises:

  • Reading my mission statement out loud
  • Watching this video of Brené Brown: https://youtu.be/w5TkA7d7eTw
  • Five minutes of meditation
  • Planning three goals for the day
  • Keeping a daily gratitude practice.

As part of my planning, each morning I will post three targeted, achievable goals for the day pertaining to work, rest, home, and/or health that align with my mission.

At the end of the day, I will post three things I’m grateful for.

Let’s do this!

  • I’m grateful for my big dreams. No equivocation.
  • I’m grateful for my big vocabulary. No comparison with others needed.
  • I’m grateful for my continuous improvement mindset and the imperfect nature in which it manifests.
  • I’m grateful for my partner who helps me be a better person just by his presence and gifts as a human being.
  • I’m grateful for my continued persistence.
  • I’m grateful for sunny days.
  • I’m grateful for Brené Brown.
  • I’m grateful for my persistence, to keep trying even when I fail and fall, despite feeling like I give up very easily.
  • I’m grateful for the many ways I have available to me to read, learn and grow.

  • I’m grateful for sunrises.
  • I’m grateful for my east-facing bedroom which allows me a great view of sunrises over the downtown Denver skyline in the distance.
  • I’m grateful for the air pollution generated globally since the industrial revolution of the 1800s that has created beautiful sunrises.
  • I’m grateful for my ADD coach and the over a decade of work and assistance to get me to the point where I’m more compassionate with myself. I’ve greatly reduced my negative self-talk.
  • I’m grateful for my boyfriend and my dog!
  • I’m grateful for my remote employment which has been minimally affected by the pandemic.
  • Hike somewhere nearby
  • Complete next modules of PSA
  • Clear out some mail clutter

Results:

  • Decided against hiking due to likelihood of overcrowding based on online reporting, but walked around the neighborhood.
  • Finished one module that I paused from the day before.
  • No clearing out of mail clutter, but I did bake banana bread with flour from 100 percent whole grain oats!
